Assessments + Progression

It’s important that gymnasts are having fun in their classes, but it’s just important to us that they are getting the most out of their sessions.

At RGA we stream our classes based on ability, age + aims. A few times per year we assess gymnasts based on the skills they have achieved so we can ensure they are at the right level for their ability.

What skills does my child need to work on?

Each group has different skill requirements. Once your child is a club member, we will send out links to the assessment skills your child needs to work on in advance of any assessments.

Badges/Proficiency awards

Gymnasts also work on Gymnastics Proficiency Awards or NatGap awards (badges) each full term.

During badge week, gymnasts practice a set of skills on their badge and if they achieve enough skills they will pass the badge. Badges cost £5 for certificate + badge and are optional to buy.

We do not use badges to assess ability or determine class levels. Badges are for gymnastics to work on for their own progress.
